Germany to Open Betting Market, Predicts Bwin Chief

VIENNA, AUSTRIA -- Soon to be merged Bwin Interactive Entertainment AG (Bwin) believes that the betting market in Germany will be deregulated.
 
In an interview with German newspaper Handelsblatt, Bwin Chief Executive Officer Norbert Teufelberger said that he expects the German betting market to open.
 
According to Teufelberger:
 
"All available arguments speak for an opening of the strictly regulated market."
 
In addition, the Bwin CEO said that the company is prepared to pay the proper taxes should the deregulation of the German betting market happen.
 
Bwin is set to merge with British firm PartyGaming.
