More Game-Fixers Indicted in South Korean Football Scandal

SEOUL -- An additional 46 more South Korean football players were indicted by prosecutors recently, adding to the initial 15 who were allegedly involved in fixed matches of football games in the South Korea's K-League.

According to prosecutors, the latest batch of players coming from different teams allegedly took bribes to fix the results of games, or have bet on games knowing fully well that the outcome of the games would be rigged. Authorities discovered that the results of 15 K-League games last year were rigged and promised to continue investigations on whether other games were also subject to game-fixing.

Aside from the players, 11 other individuals were also indicted including illegal gambling brokers and members of crime syndicates involved in game-fixing activities.
