With the construction of the proposed Playboy Mansion in Macau in doubt, the Playboy Club at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas will close in June, officials said.

Sheffield is to acquire two new restaurants and a champagne bar as part of a casino and leisure complex being developed in the city’s iconic Cheesegrater building. Genting Club Sheffield – first venue in Yorkshire for the UK’s largest casino operator – is due to open in the autumn.

Sands China Ltd says the MOP3 billion (US$375 million) lawsuit filed by Asian American Entertainment Corporation Ltd. over how Sands was awarded its Macau gaming license is “meritless”.

A new citizens group unveiled Wednesday has vowed to fight plans by a US gaming giant to build a Las Vegas-style casino strip in Spain that promises to create over 250,000 jobs. Las Vegas Sands, owned by US billionaire Sheldon Adelson, is in talks with Spain’s two biggest cities, Madrid and Barcelona, to build the complex which reportedly will have six casinos, 12 hotels, nine theatres and three golf courses.

DES MOINES — Online poker enthusiasts appear to have run out of luck. The Iowa House doesn’t plan to take up the bill, which the Senate approved 29-20 earlier this week. The legislation would legalize online poker and bring it under state regulation.

Two days after receiving a letter from Gov. Cuomo’s office expressing concern over the number of horse fatalities this year at Aqueduct, New York Racing Association president Charles Hayward said NYRA is taking steps to address the potential cause of what he acknowledged is “a big issue,” while also moving ahead on the governor’s request that NYRA form and fund an independent investigation into the breakdowns.
