Online Gambling Advocacy Group to Pepper Websites with Ads
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Online gambling advocacy group in the U.S., the Safe and Securie Internet Gambling Initiative, who are supporting Congressman Barney Frank's HR 2267 bill or the Internet Gambling Regulation, Consumer Protection and Enforcement Act fo 2009, has launched a series of online ads in support of the said legislation.
The online ads, in the form of advertising banners, hope to spread awareness about the Frank internet gambling bill and the benefits of regulating online gambling especially potential revenues from licensed operators.
Safe and Secure said that the online ads will appear in leading online news sites including the Washington Post, The Hill, Politico, Huffington Post, Political Wire, and Talking Points Memo.
Commenting on the launch of the new ads, Safe and Secure Spokesperson Jeffrey Sandman said:
"As Congress searches for ways to pay for health care reform and other worthy programs, it should end the unsuccessful prohibition of Internet gambling and start collecting taxes on the billions in revenue currently lost to unlicensed, offshore gambling operators."
Since Congressman Frank, chair of the House Committee of Financial Services, introduced HR 2267 last May, a total 54 bipartisan co-sponsors have signed the bill. Frank has announced that a hearing and mark-up on the bill is planned this autumn.
