Harrah's Partners with 888 in Online Gaming Move

888's Dragonfish to Provide Online Casino and Poker to Harrah's Interactive Unit

GIBRALTAR - Gaming group Harrah's Entertainment, holders of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) and Caesars Casino brands, has solidified its move to offer online gaming products when it sealed an agreement with leading online gaming company 888.

The deal will see 888's B2B unit, Dragonfish, provide Harrah's Interactive Entertainment Inc. (HIE) with its total gaming services approach and roll-out online poker and casino using the WSOP and Caesars brands, respectively. Aside from the gaming software, Dragonfish will also provide HIE with electronic payments, CRM, customer support and VIP services.

HIE, helmed by Mitch Garber, former CEO of PartyGaming, plans to roll-out its online products to European customers, particularly in the UK. It is surmised that Harrah's is readying itself once the US online gaming market opens up.

HIE CEO Garber expressed confidence in the new partnership with 888:

"As we develop and roll out our interactive strategy, we have chosen to work with 888, primarily for their world-class technology, scalability, and a strong commitment to compliance, and responsible gaming."

Commenting on the long-term agreement, 888 CEO Gigi Levy said:

"This is a ground breaking deal for 888 and demonstrates our ability to provide real value to globally renowned, land-based casinos and their leading brands. We have the structure in place to realise our B2B division’s full potential over the next 18 months and beyond and today’s announcement of our partnership with an industry giant is further vindication of this strategy."
