Tycoons Lose Millions in Singapore Casinos

SINGAPORE - A still unidentified Singaporean tycoon has reportedly lost about SG$100 million at the gaming tables of Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) and Marina Bay Sands (MBS).

Gaming experts believe that in order to lose that much amount, the tycoon would have had bets per hand running into tens of thousands of dollars. Plus, he could have been gambling at the casinos' VIP rooms exclusive only to highrollers. And since the businessman is a highroller, he is surmised to have played either baccarat or blackjack.

According to newspaper, Today,  the businessman is on the Forbes list of the 40 richest people in Singapore.

But he is not the only tycoon to lose millions in Singapore's casinos. Today reports that another businessman from Malaysia handily lost some SG$50 million recently. In June, Henry Quek, managing director of Far Ocean Sea Products reportedly lost SG$26 million over three days at RWS, surprising Las Vegas and Macau analysts with how fast that much money was lost over the period.
