DUBLIN, IRELAND - Irish bookmaker, Paddy Power, has launched a fourth mobile application this 2010 and the first it has done for the iPad.
The new downloadable iPad application, which is similar with Paddy Power's iPhone application and developed in collaboration with mobile gaming developer Mobenga from Sweden, allows current Paddy Power patrons to access their account, open new accounts, make deposits, withdraw winnings, and bet on the different markets offered by Paddy Power including over a thousand sports market.
After developing downloadable applications for the iPhone and Android-powered phones, the iPad application is Paddy Power's third downloadable application. Last June, the company also launched a web application for the iPhone.
According to Paddy Power Product Manager James Grimes:
"We have seen with the rate of download of all of our previous apps that the demand for mobile betting apps from Paddy Power's customers is extremely high. We are committed to delivering a superior mobile betting experience for all our customers regardless of their platform of choice."
Grimes added that the company was pleased with the success of its mobile applications that were launched this year and, together with Mobenga, will continue to develop new mobile products for its customers.
Mobenga CEO Christian Rajter also commented on the launch of the mobile application:
"iPhone has been a massive success for Paddy Power and Mobenga so creating an iPad app available through the app store was a no-brainer. iPad users will love the application and Mobenga will together with Paddy Power continue to develop the iPad app to maximize possibilities and user-experience."
