GIBRALTAR - British bookmaker Stan James Plc is bent on expanding its reach globally with the acquisition of a majority stake in online horseracing betting company, Racing2day LLC. Stan James trades online using StanJames.com.
Racing2day founder, Vincent Caldwell, announced the deal and welcomed the Gibraltar-licensed StanJames as its newest shareholders. He said:
"Given their (StanJames') excellent corporate values, operating experience, marketing innovation, and passion for horse racing, this is an exciting time for Racing2day."
Caldwell added that having StanJames onboard will enhance Racing2day's wagering services to both American and international horse racing bettors. Racing2day is based in the US and is licensed by the Oregon Racing Commission. It is run by horse racing owners, players, handicappers, and fans and offers betting on over 350 race tracks worldwide.
StanJames Chief Executive Dennis Kelly also commented on the deal:
"StanJames.com invests significantly into UK horse racing, and we are committed to continue our global investment in this exciting sport. We aim to boost the sie of the pools by ultimately driving our European customers to the US Tote."
