KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA -- A raid of a shopping mall in Ampang earlier this week resulted in the arrest of 13 people caught playing online gambling games.
DSP Mohamed Mokhsein Mohamed Zain, the leader of the raiding party, said that the raid was conducted in the shopping mall at 9:30pm and those caught were between 19 to 50 years old.
Police chanced upon the perpetrators while they were playing gambling games in establishments masquerading as internet cafes and family entertainment centers.
The raiding police also seized 54 computers and 41 slot machines from the gaming establishments.
The 13 will be investigated for violating the Common Gaming Houses Act of 1952.
