Former Ladbroke Exec Joins Coral as Head of Interactive Business

NOTTINGHAM, ENGLAND -- After year out of the industry, former Ladbrokes online head, John O' Reilly, has joined rival British betting firm, Coral, as its interactive managing director. He reports directly to new Coral CEO Andy Hornby.

O' Reilly comes to Coral bringing with him 18 years of gaming experience and will Hornby's top man to lead the betting group's relaunch of its interactive business. According to Hornby:

"His (O' Reilly's) egaming track record and considerable bookmaking experience will make him a huge asset for Coral as we develop the interactive business over the coming months and years."

For his part, O' Reilly is delighted to get back into gaming industry, stating:

"I couldn't have a more exciting prospect that developing Coral's online business."

He added that while the Coral brand was a "fantastic shop estate and a terrific brand", it had "yet to punch its weight" in the online scene and this was the challenge he would be facing in his new role in Coral.

O' Reilly left Ladbrokes last year a few months after new management began restructuring the senior team and after the brand's online business declined over several years.
