LONDON, ENGLAND - At the recently-concluded eGaming Review Operator Awards 2010, British online gaming company, Bet365, won the top plum as Operator of Year and scooping up two other awards in the process.
The Stoke-on-Trent-based Bet365 also won as Best Casino Operator and Best Website Performance, the latter award sponsored by website performance monitoring company GOMEZ.
Bet365 edged out fellow British gaming firm, Betfair who itself won three awards including Best in Innovation, Best Mobile Operator, and UK Sportsbetting Operator of the Year. Other nominees for the top prize included 888,Betsson, PartyGaming, and Unibet.
On the other hand, Austrian operator Bwin was awaded the Outstanding Contribution to the Industry Award. Bwin's Manfred Bodner accepted the award and thanked the gaming industry for "10 fun years" and his co-founder Norbert Teufelberger. Bwin also gained the European Sportsbetting Operator award from a competitive field of nominees that included Betclic, Betsson, and Unibet. Bwin will be merging with PartyGaming next year.
The eGaming Review Operator Awards 2010 was hosted by TV comedian Jack Whitehall.
